With the 2017 MLB season soon underway, Atlanta Braves outfielder Matt Kemp has decided to place his Poway, California, home up for auction.
Kemp picked up the home three years ago following his trade from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the San Diego Padres. Located in the gated Heritage community not far from San Diego, the manse has been on the market since December with an $11.5-million asking price.
The mansion measures in at 15,884 square feet and sits on four acres of luxuriously decked out grounds. The estate features a pool/guest house, an infinity-edge swimming pool, a tennis court, a gym, and an impressive roman spa.
Kemp gave the five-bedroom, five-bathroom home a $3-million remodel when he picked it up, adding travertine flooring, a 1,200-bottle wine cellar and tasting room, a cigar lounge, and other personal touches.
Kemp and the Atlanta Braves open up their 2017 season on April 3 on the road against the New York Mets. On April 20, the MLB player’s home will be auctioned off, without reserve.
