A home with nuptial associations with Britney Spears has come to market; the site of the singer’s marriage to Kevin Federline in 2004, it has entered the market with an asking price of $2.295 million. It hit the market in 2006 and sold for a little over two million, but the last selling price was a little over $1.8 million, in 2013. We’ll see what the market will bear in 2017.
The house—located in Studio City—dates to the early 1940’s, and is a bright, open Los Angeles neo-Georgian; lots of glass, Colonial flourishes. The interior is marked by mid-toned hardwood and a brick fireplace. The front door is crowned with a fanlight, and the staircase rail and balustrade are wrought iron. Comforting familiarity via historical reference, with a few modern updates. It measures nearly 4,000 square feet, and contains five bedrooms and four baths, including the master suite.
The kitchen, though, has been revised with a neoclassical veneer, which is a lot to digest with your morning bagel and coffee. The island is especially ornate; with the country-style pantry built in, it looks a little eccentric.
The back of the house features a family room with limestone fireplace, two sets of French doors leading to the patio and yard, and a second floor terrace off the master.
Spears’ residency show ‘Piece of Me’ is ongoing at Axis, Planet Hollywood, in Las Vegas. Spears and Federline divorced in 2007.
