Luxury ski maker Blossom and tire manufacturer Pirelli have teamed up to come out with the new Blossom X Pirelli Rubber-Infused Skis.
The new creations hold the promise of reduced vibrations and better performance.
Blossom’s craftspeople and Pirelli engineers worked hand-in-hand at the former’s Val Chiavenna workshop to incorporate a layer of absorbing rubber in a sandwich-like construction. The result is a 60-percent reduction in the vibrations from the piste to the ski caused by speeding down snowy slopes. The result? A smoother ride. No word on better cornering, though.
The new line will feature skis in seven different color options, with only 110 pairs made per color option, one pair for every year Pirelli Co. has been in business. The seven colors were inspired by the color-coding system Pirelli uses for its racing tires.
