Architect Richard Meier has introduced a range of plain white lamps, providing continuation for the American designer’s minimalist style from exterior to interior.
Meier teamed up with his daughter, product designer Ana Meier, and lighting expert Hervé Descottes to come out with the Richard Meier Light collection.
The line extends to 12 pieces, including sconces, pendants, table lamps, and floor lamps. Some of the designs feature geometric shapes, while others borrow from Meier’s classic structural forms.
“With this collection, we aim to bring the power of architecture to a smaller-scale,” Ana Meier said of the new line. “I was moved to take recurring themes and forms in Richard’s work, and translate them into sculptural objects that are interacted with every day.”
Richard Meier is currently working on a luxury tower development overlooking the Hudson River in New York City, along with a unique black skyscraper on the East Side, neighboring the U.N. Secretariat Building.
