Back in 2014, Bulgari wowed crowds at Baselworld with its record-breaking Octo Finissimo Tourbillon, which set the record for the world’s thinnest. The precedent-setting movement measured in at 1.95mm and the case was just 5mm. No small accomplishment.
Now Bulgari has gone and skeletonized this legendary watch, calling its latest edition the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon.
The movement inside the Fine Eight is Bulgari’s BVL268 Finissmo caliber. All 253 parts are fit into a 32.60mm-wide by 1.95mm-thick layer, still holding the world record for being the world’s thinnest tourbillon. Bulgari gave the bridges and main plate a PVD coating in order to increase the visual contrast, and to highlight the moving components without affecting the integrity of the caliber.
Bulgari crafted the 40mm case out of platinum, and added a ceramic insert to the platinum crown–octagonal, naturally.
The new Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Skeleton is available at $124,000.
