With its vintage-hip design cues, Vanderhall Motorwork’s handmade Venice three-wheeler is a roadster that offers the appeal of a bygone age: think cars roaring down the winding curbs of California’s Highway 1 toward Big Sur, and you’re halfway there. Or maybe three-quarters.
The Ohio-based company built the diminutive sportscar on a similar platform to the famed Lazareth Wazuma GT, also known as the Morgan.
The Venice rides 4.5 inches off of the ground and features an open-top carbon composite body that makes the driver really feel a closeness with the road. Like the Wazuma, it combines the best design elements of roadster and 2-wheeler.
Vanderhall gave the Venice modern luxuries like heated seats, a 600-watt Bluetooth sound system, and LED headlights. But the vintage-inspired dash instruments and wooden steering wheel are the most striking design elements.
Powering the Venice is a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that packs 200 horsepower. It can go from a stop to 60 in less than 5 seconds, and will reach a top speed of 130 mph.
Vanderhall offers Venice in a trio of paint schemes, including Metallic Black, Metallic Grey, and Pearl White.
