Actress, comedian and writer Kristen Wiig has listed her home in Los Feliz for sale. Wiig is asking $2.395 million for the Franklin Hills property, which she acquired in 2013 for $1.76 million.

The mid-century modern dates to the late 1940’s and, even considering the renovations, still looks iconoclastic. Much of the home is very, very cool; unadorned, open, and somewhat stark in tone and design, with the monolithic mantles, and brown-wallpapered living or family room offering little in the way of comfort but much in the way of moody atmosphere. The kitchen, which incorporates a little more flexible playfulness, immediately strikes a chord as the heart of the home. There’s nothing terribly grand or exquisite going on, just a spirit of possibility and a subsequent sense of liberation, and that’s why it charms.

The house measures about 2,700 square feet, and contains three bedrooms and four baths. Retractable Fleetwood doors form a glass wall that opens to the complex of decks and terraces, which collectively represent a powerful survey of the suburban landscape. Attached pergolas, an outdoor kitchen, and an outdoor shower emphasize the property exterior as a living space for daily use in its own right.
