The timepiece market is currently awash with watches designed in tandem with iconic automakers, but this new collection from Christopher Ward and the Morgan Motor Company is pretty cool.
Both companies are signature English brands, and on top of sharing a sense of nationalism, both operate in similar fashions with a focus on classic designs paired with innovation. They’re calling the collaborative series the C1 Morgan Chronometer collection, and there are three models to choose from.
The first is the Christopher Ward C1 Morgan 3 Wheeler Chronograph, an homage to a wheelbase Morgan has been making since 1910. This watch features a DLC-coated case and a matte black dial, and measures in at 40.5mm. It contains CW’s in-house Calbre SH21 movement, which is COSC certified and offers a 120-hour power reserve.
The next watch is the C1 Morgan Classic Chronometer, which boasts a stainless steel case paired with a domed opaline dial with pencil-thin indices. This timepiece is also powered by the Calibre SH21 movement, and features a custom bridge design that recalls the steering wheels of a Morgan Classic model.
Lastly, there is the C1 Morgan Aero 8 Chronometer, named after Morgan’s most advanced model to date, the Aero 8. This case is steel finished with a brushed design on the sides and a polished face. The dial of the Aero 8 Chronometer is a little more complicated and offers a black and white aesthetic. Of course, it’s also powered by Christopher Ward’s in-house Calibre SH21.
The Christopher Ward C1 Morgan 3 Wheeler Chronometer and C1 Morgan Classic Chronometer are both offered at $2,575, while the C1 Morgan Aero 8 Chronometer is a little pricier, at $3,195.
