Many automakers craft kid-sized versions of their popular models in order to tap the children’s toy market. But this pint-sized offering from Rolls-Royce came to fruition for a different reason.
Rolls-Royce specially designed this custom children’s car—called the SRH—for the St. Richard’s Hospital Pediatric Day Surgery Unit. The car is available for jaunts around the corridors of the hospital by the children waiting for surgery.
The Children’s Unit of the hospital is actively participating with its new addition, even posting traffic signs around the halls that the little drivers of the SRH have to follow.
Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke Manufacturing team is responsible for making the car. It offers a two-tone exterior of Salamanca Blue and Andalusian White topped off with a coachline in St. James Red. A flashy ride, indeed.
The SRH Is powered by a 24V gel battery that can push the mini Rolls-Royce to speeds of up to 10 mph–fast enough to outrun a tray of meatloaf and lima beans.
It is unknown if Rolls-Royce will make the SRH or a similar offering available for purchase, but for now, it is worth its weight in gold to the kids who get to enjoy it.
