Just a year after showing its Vision show car, recently reborn French car maker Alpine has unveiled its new production model at the Geneva Motor Show: the 2017 A110. The mid-engine coupe was several years in the making.

The classic Alpine design elements–light, agile, and performance minded–are evident in the A110, and there is significant company history in it as well; the old Berlinette models are voiced in its lines and shape. Alpine will be building the new model in its old factory in Dieppe, Normandy, which had been used by parent company Groupe Renault for it’s Sport-Tech division during Alpine’s manufacturing hiatus.

Alpine made the new A110 super compact, with the model measuring in at just under 165 inches long. Due to its featherweight status and small size, the A110 is the perfect car for the winding mountain roads of France: dexterous, quick and responsive.

Powering the new Alpine is a 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine developed by Renault and Nissan. It provides the A110 with a very respectable 252 horsepower. The A110 can launch to 60 in 4.5 seconds.

The interior offers fine furnishing such as carbon fiber and supple natural grain leather; it’s a bit romantic, like any French car worth its salt.

The A110 will be available in Europe and Japan later this year. U.S. availability is unknown.
