Porsche has finally unveiled a second-generation iteration of its Panamera model, the Sport Turismo wagon. The car has been five years in the making.

The first glimpse of the Sport Turismo came at the 2012 Paris Auto Show when it was just in concept form. It looks almost identical to the current Panamera model except for its sleek lines that stretch out into a steep hatch that changes the Panamera from a sedan to a station wagon.

Porsche has made the Sport Turismo available in a pair of seating configurations. The main offering will be a 4+1 seating configuration, consisting of two seats and an occasional-use seat in between in the rear. There is also the option of a 2+2 seating setup, with power-adjustable rear seats.

The mechanics inside of the Sport Turismo are identical to those of the Panamera. The model will come with either a 4.0-liter V8 that cranks out 550 horsepower and 567 pound-feet of torque, or a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6. There will also be a pair of gasoline-electric hybrid drivetrains, including one based on the aforementioned V8 that is expected to produce 680 ponies.
