American bike company Trek has released a new iteration of its electric off-road bike. Trek is calling it the Powerfly 8 FS Plus Electric Mountain Bike, and it’s worth a look for bikers looking for a bit of excitement and assistance in their ride.
The Powerfly 8 FS Plus boasts a Shimano drivetrain and a Bosch Performance CX pedal assist system that powers the 500-watt battery, with the latter being capable of helping the rider reach speeds of up to 20 mph.
Other features of Trek’s new bike include a Knock Block frame, Bontrager wheels, hubs, and tires, and a full RockShox suspension. On the handlebars is a digital display that keeps track of the Powerfly 9 FS Plus Electric’s battery power and serves as a speedometer, remote, and USB charging port.
Trek’s Powerfly line has been gaining popularity in Europe for the past couple few years, but the new 8 FS model is the first example released for U.S. consumers.
