A. Lange & Sohne has revealed a new creation: the Tourbograph Perpetual Pour Le Merite. The wristwatch continues the tradition of a long line of notable Pour Le Merite timepieces since the brand’s founding in 1994.
This year’s offering advances the German marque’s level of craftsmanship with a number of fascinating complications, making the watch downright cool, as well as beautifully constructed.
First is the perpetual calendar, which causes no mechanical conflicts with the other complications; accuracy is assured via a difficult buildup around the fusee-and-chain, one-minute tourbillon.
However, the most striking element of the design is the chronograph function, which has become a staple of A. Lange & Sohne. Oh, there is also a moon phase feature added, too.
Powering all of these features is the German brand’s caliber L133.1, which didn’t have to suffer many changes to ensure functionality with all of its 684 pieces.
The Tourbograph Perpetual Pour Le Merite is offered in a platinum case, and with a $500,000 price tag. Only 50 examples of the timepiece will be created.
