Steve Wynn, Casino and Hotel Mogul, Gets a Cool $16.6M for Bel-Air Mansion

Billionaire Steve Wynn, owner of Wynn Resorts, has sold a home in Bel Air. Wynn accepted a $16.55 million offer on the property; it had been priced at $15.85 million at one point last year, and a buyer had been found, but the sale did not complete. Wynn purchased the home for $16.25 million, in 2014.

The home is characterized as a Modern Mediterranean, and is one of a dozen properties that share a border with the Bel Air Country Club. It measures 11,027 square feet, and contains five bedrooms and eight baths. The home was constructed in the early 1990’s.

Set behind wrought-iron gates, the home’s façade is formal and stylistically unassuming. The home opens with a double-height foyer with dual staircase; contrasting marble and off-white walls set the tone for the house. Blanched oak parquet floors, and sliding glass doors that open onto the large terrace, give it an airy feel, and the symmetrical motif that begins in the foyer follows through.

There are no surprises, really, as the house is invested primarily in its amenities: lovely outdoor spaces with views of the Country Club, and city in the distance, and the expansive living and lounging areas within. A wet bar, study with paneled walls and pocket ceiling, and a couple of fireplaces and a sauna are all pleasant additions, and a putting green and large pool/spa area occupy a large component of the one-acre grounds.

Steven Wynn’s newest project is the Everett Casino project, located outside Boston.
