Jennifer Lopez Finally Lines up a Buyer for California Mansion—at a $7M Price Cut

After a long stretch on-and-off the market, Jennifer Lopez’s Hidden Hills estate appears to finally have a buyer. The house went into contract this week, with the funds currently in escrow.

The selling price was about $10 million, a far cry from the initial asking price of $17 million set in January, 2015. The asking price had come down to $12.5 during the home’s period on the market, and the house had been a hair’s breadth from changing hands at the very beginning of this year.

At over 17,000 square feet, the house is generously proportioned, with very substantial entertainment, living, and exercise rooms. From the somewhat bland exterior—a brick façade with gabled roof, which gives the house the appearance of a gigantic 1950’s ranch—to the contrasting hardwood and off-white interior, the home sprawls into two wings, and contains a home cinema, two lounges with full bars, and cavernous walk-in master closet and fitness center and gym. Most of the home offers only the hardwood/off white balance, with the exception of the downstairs bar and lounge, which features paneled walls and paneled, coffered ceiling.

The exterior of the property isn’t wanting for space, either. At about three acres, it incorporates its own small park, two-tiered patio with free form pool and spa, tennis court, and lawns and gardens. There is a private terrace leading off the master suite, as well.

Ms. Lopez listed the property a little ahead of an even more expansive property, an eight acre estate in Bel Air, for which the singer paid $28 million.
