Families that don’t want to leave their four-legged loved ones out when they go road tripping finally have an option with the new Dogscamper van.

The German-designed Type B motorhome goes above and beyond to make its owner’s pup a priority, thanks to an interior crafted to fit both small and large dogs. Humans aren’t left out, though. The Dogscamper offers comfortable sleeping and living accommodations for their two-legged friends, too.

The latest camper van was crafted by Martin Hemp, whose work also includes the Terra Camper and retro-looking VW Flow camper.

The appeal of the Dogscamper lies in Hemp’s Vari-Modular System. The system uses a series of grid walls that mount to the floor rails of the van which allow the owner to make custom kennels of varying sizes and layouts, providing plenty of usable space for multiple dogs to ride comfortably, while conserving room in the camper. This Vari-Modular System also helps secure and keep dogs safe during the long trips.

Other canine-oriented features include a ramp that allows the dog to board easily through the back door, a dog food/accessory case hanging on the back near the rear spare tire, a hook system for hanging leashes and other items, and a handy sprayer in the sink that doubles as an outdoor shower; a thoughtful addition that will come in handy keeping one’s dog clean after outdoor activities.

Dogscamper is available for conversions to both the Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer, and the Volkswagen T6 Kombi in either short- or long-wheel base examples.

The Dogscamper package for modifying these vans starts at $1,799, with the entire package (van, regular conversion, Dogscamper conversion) available for around $70,000 for North American customers.
