Zenith has a longstanding tradition of crafting aviation-themed timepieces. The 2017 edition of the Swiss watchmaker’s Heritage Pilot Extra Special Chronograph is another example of the brand’s longstanding affiliation with aircraft and piloting.
The Heritage Pilot Extra Special Chronograph features a 45mm bronze case with a giant onion crown and pusher, large easy-to-read numerals popping right off the dial, and the brand’s El Primero movement that has been in service since 1969.
The case is only 14.25mm thick, making it far less bulky than expected, considering it is a chronograph. In true Zenith style, the titanium caseback boasts the flying instruments logo the brand has become famous for since its founding in 1865.
The Heritage Pilot Extra Special Chronograph is water resistant up to 328 feet but, seeing that it is a bronze watch, owners will probably want to avoid oxidation whenever possible.
Zenith paired the Heritage Pilot Extra Special Chronograph with an oiled green nubuck leather strap with rubber lining. The asking price for the watch is $7,100.
