Bentley’s newest esoteric automotive offering is the Bentayga Mulliner crossover. It’s got flash to burn, it’s very quick, and it’s graced with custom-shop cachet.
The Bentayga Mulliner is the product of Bentley’s custom shop. The Mulliner variant of the SUV is a customized package of Mulliner options. Including the $160K Breitling Tourbillon clock.
The Mulliner’s engine is Bentley’s 6.oL W12, which will take the very heavy vehicle to a top speed of nearly 190MPH. But the Bentayga Mulliner is really a variation based on cosmetics and luxury features.
The interior is dressed in hand-stitched leather, and lots of it; burled walnut accents are a nice touch, adding a little fine furniture aesthetic to the proceedings. Picnicking essentials are built right in, from the backseat bottle cooler stocked with crystal flutes to the on-board refrigerated hamper stocked with bone china, more crystal, and silverware (the hamper option on the regular Bentayga is $28K). Music isn’t given short shrift, either; the Bentayga Mulliner’s Naim system is a 1950-watt, 21-channel monster.
This isn’t the first custom Mulliner Bentayga model to come down the pike: last year saw the Bentayga Fly Fishing model, for the well-heeled angler in search of steelhead. The Fly Fishing model featured leather-trimmed rod tubes stored under the rear parcel shelf, matching leather bags for fishing nets, and the most awfully pretty creel and necessities storage you’ve ever seen stowed in the back: think burled walnut tacklebox, saddle-leather reel cases, and leather-trimmed refreshment box with a set of bone china and flasks for your finest selections.
