Rob Cohen—famous for ‘The Fast and the Furious’ film franchise—has picked up a house in Woodland Hills. Cohen purchased the property for $1.755 million.
The Mediterranean-style ranch house dates to 1950, and features a covered entryway accented with columns and lantern, and arched double front doors. The roof is mock-tile, and the exterior walls are stucco.
Inside, the spaces are connected with extra-wide thresholds capped with stilted arches. Wide-plank flooring is accented nicely with the muted cool tones of the walls, lending a pleasing tension to the interior.
Tiered ceilings and a ported staircase—and the rounded corner in the foyer—open up the home, and give it a nice sense of flow. Recessed lighting has been added throughout to modernize a bit; combined with the soft lines, the interior has clean, minimalist design elements accented with a little overt romance.
The home measures 4,650 square feet, and contains five bedrooms and 4.5 baths. The master suite is nicely self-contained, and features a few key design elements: a pocket ceiling and somewhat dated mosaic fireplace mantle in the bedroom, a light fixture set flush into the arch between the bedroom and bath, and a curious metallic chandelier in the master bathroom. A large walk-in closet features extensive wood cabinetry and wardrobes, and is centered by an island dresser.
Screenwriter, producer and director Rob Cohen’s newest project is the feature ‘Category 5.’ Cohen directed the film, which is due to hit theaters this year.
