Selena Gomez is selling a seldom-used Montserrat home; the property hit the market recently, with a list price of $2.999 million. Gomez purchased the home about fourteen months ago for $3.5 million, and cited a busy schedule, and the peripatetic life of a musician, as reasons for the sale.

The house measures 10,016 square feet, and contains five bedrooms and 6.5 baths. It sprawls amid a 1.5 acre parcel of land that includes a putting green, tennis court, basketball court, outdoor kitchen and dining area with cabana, and freeform pool with a stone waterslide. It was custom constructed in 2005.

Stone is paramount in the home’s structural design—the façade is finished in multi-colored, stacked granite, chimneys and fireplace mantles are granite, the driveway and motor court are cobblestone, and the winding front walk is inlaid sandstone. Marble tile extends through much of the home, with occasional forays into mid-toned hardwood or carpet.

The home’s aesthetics are grounded firmly in French countryside tradition. The abundance of stone, stilted arches, recessed entry, medieval front door accented with wrought iron, lantern lighting, and steeply-pitched roof combine to give the house a cottage-like appeal. There are storybook elements (exploited to full effect in the photos below), a propos for the young entertainer who rocketed to stardom in her teens. The home cinema and the games room, both with yawning concept ceilings, are twenty-something dream rooms.

Selena Gomez is currently working on her third studio album. Her previous solo effort was 2015’s ‘Revival,’ which debuted at number one, and made numerous year-end best-of lists.
