Canon introduced a pair of new DSLR cameras recently, the EOS 77D and the EOS Rebel T7i, which both borrow technology from the Japenese brand’s higher-end 80D shooter.

Some of the features that carry over to the more cost-effective offerings include the same 24-megapixel APS-C sensor with Dual Pixel live view autofocus, a 45-point all cross-type AF system, and Canon’s Digic 7 image processor.

The new Rebel T7i is simply an update to the outgoing T6i model, while the EOS 77D is part of a new range of cameras offered by Canon.

The Rebel T7i is scheduled to reach stores in April, through a series of sales options. The camera body is priced at $750, while the T7i with Canon’s new EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 lS STM lens will sell for $900, and the T7i with the new EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens will be available for $1,299.

Canon’s brand new EOS 77D also hits sales floors in April, and is priced at $900 for the camera only or $1,049 with the 18-55mm lens. The 77D with the 18-135mm lens will run consumers $1,499.

It should be noted that the EOS 77D is only $100 less than its bigger brother, the 80D.
