Kirsten Dunst’s Nolita pied-a-terre is for sale. The actor is asking an even $5 million for the residence. Dunst purchased the property in 2007, for about $3 million, and renovated it completely. She offered it as a rental at $12.5K/monthly back in 2014.

Located in 533 Canal, otherwise known as 477 Washington—a building perched on the border of Soho and Tribeca—the apartment is a classic loft-style, open and bright, with plentiful exposed brick, original wide-plank hardwood floors, and a nice balance between austere industrial history and warmth. The building itself dates to 1911, and is considered a residential landmark, offering privacy, distinction from conventional upper-end residential Manhattan real estate, and an aura of Greenwich Village’s more fundamental bohemian roots. Think New Directions and a Verve 10”.

The apartment features a host of very appealing, individual accents: a hand-painted tile floor in the main bath lend a little artisanal cred, a set of retractable doors with opaque glass panels adds a little Eastern influence, a wall of inset bookcases compliments all the brick. New windows—sometimes graced with ornamental arches—and marble kitchen countertops are well executed. The kitchen hides its renovation especially well.

The building is, or has been home to others in the entertainment/arts business: Casey Affleck, Michael Stipe and filmmaker Gus Van Sant are all present or previous occupants of 533 Canal/477 Washington.

Dunst also owns property in the Los Angeles area. Her most recent film is ‘Hidden Figures,’ released late last year.
