Robert Kennedy, Jr. and Cheryl Hines have listed a Point Dume home for sale. The couple has set the asking price for the estate at $6.45 million. The couple purchased the property in 2014 for $4.995 million.
The main residence and the guesthouses collectively present an Eastern-U.S. design vision: the main house is a post-and-beam barn, while the guesthouses are a New England ranch-style, and a gabled, shingle-style coastal cottage. Overall, there are six bedrooms and five baths across an estimated 6,300 square feet of living space.
The main house features wide-plank hardwood and tile floors, and vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, or open-trussed. Exposed, reclaimed brick accents and fireplace add even more warmth to the overall impression, and an emphasis on illumination and airiness balances out the substance of brick and beam with a beautiful sense of flow between rooms.
And between structures. Over-sized windows, bay windows and French doors are the hallmark of all the houses; the smaller guesthouse, designed in the style of an old-fashioned artist’s studio, opens to the property from front and back, while the larger features a French door entrance, and a skylit interior.
The exterior of the property features a pool/lounge area, again in reclaimed brick, with a cobalt-blue tiled spa. A pool house, tree house, wine shed, and beach frontage round out the profile.
