Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ news and lifestyle program, is selling a Bronxville, New York neo-Tudor style; the asking price is $2.095 million. Brzezinski purchased the home with her husband, journalist and writer James Hoffer, in 2012. The couple paid $1.9 million for the property, which is located across town from Sarah Lawrence College.
Constructed in 1910, the house is one of many Tudor-style homes in the area—Bronxville is the economic heart of Westchester County, New York, an area well-populated with the mannered style. The house measures 4,102 square feet, and contains seven bedrooms and 4.5 baths. It is situated on a little less than half an acre of land.
The house comprises a pleasing blend of traditional suburban design and modern updates. The exposed beams of the exterior have been accented in blue, and a winding flagstone walk offers an informal approach to the home.
The interior walls are whitewash, textured wallpaper, and subtle cool tones. Narrow-plank oak floors run throughout, and are nicely offset by the modern-design kitchen with recessed lighting, an occasional skylight, and the family room, which has been revised to offer a double-height ceiling. French doors lead from the living room to a screened porch. The original marble fireplace in the living room is a hallmark of the interior, though, and grounds the living space with a little history.
Politically astute Mika Brzezinski began learning her craft at a young age: she is the daughter of Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was National Security Adviser to Jimmy Carter, and a counselor to Lyndon Johnson. Aside from MSNBC, her career has included positions in networks ABC and CBS.
