Callaway’s AeroWagen Conversion Turns Your Corvette into the Sexiest Wagon on the Road

Callaway Cars has been hard at work on its AeroWagen project for years now. The company unveiled the concept in 2013, and now they are moving it into production. The package will transform any C7 Stingray, Z06 Coupe and Grand Sport into the kind of station wagon that has no business being a family car.

The company calls the conversion kit the ‘Shooting Brake,’ a term used to describe early two-door station wagons fabricated out of a customized chassis of an existing motorcar and, even more historically, a term used to describe a vehicle which would transport English shooting parties to scrubland where brush-beaters would drive grouse into a clear line of fire.

Callaway’s Shooting Brake is a revival of the former context. It includes a hatch assembly, spoilers, halo bar, and tempered glass panels designed for existing Corvettes. It is a part-for-part replacement, and—like other similar kits on the market—uses existing factory hardware and connecting points to make the process painless, smooth, and tight. All carbon-fiber moldings are supplied ready to install, complete with protective coatings, and ready for precisely matched OEM paint colors. And the converted car is, of course, easily transformed back to factory specs.

Installation can be performed at any Callaway facility; there are two main workshops, one on each coast—California and Connecticut—as well as numerous authorized retailers. Kit price is a carbon fiber under $15K.
