Jetpack Aviation has already brought the world realistic jetpacks thanks to the work of David Mayman and Nelson Tyler. But now they plan on making a splash in another vehicle market once thought to only belong in the works of science fiction: the flying car.

High-powered and long-lasting lithium batteries, electric aircraft, multirotor drones, and multi-faceted and readily available inertial sensors all make the flying car more of a reality than ever before.

Based out of Van Nuys, California, Jetpack Aviations made waves when it introduced the first-ever jet turbine backpack, with Mayman serving as both the CEO and head pilot. Mayman has been showing off the brand’s JB-9 and JB-10 jetpacks around America and Europe recently, and he has even let it be known that for enough cash a lucky buyer can get their hands on one of the personal flyers.

Jetpack Aviation is currently in the process of building the six-turbine JB-11 and its all-electric JB-12 models, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have the time for dreaming up a manned multicopter flying car concept that still has no name and is only known as the VTOL multirotor project.
