Korean design brand Hattern has just unveiled its newest creation, the Mellow Collection.

The acrylic vase line was inspired by 19th-century Impressionism and features unique compositions of blurred finishes blended with transparent elements to create an evocative look.

Appearing almost like an optical illusion, the vases sport blends of bright and muted hues that are seamlessly presented using a gradation of colors. When exposed to outside light, they appear to change color, mixing warm and cool tones.

Hattern’s Mellow collection pays homage to the traditions of Impressionists throughout, and it’s clear the design studio also aimed to play with light and color in their most recent line. The design of the vases was purposeful so plant elements could be added to enhance the interaction between art and nature.

The unique pieces were crafted from dyed acrylic blocks featuring mixtures of red, blue, yellow, orange, green, and purple.
