Louis Meisel, the owner of the famed Soho art gallery with the same name, recently added to his collection, but this time it comes in the form of a $3.6-million bit of real estate, an apartment at 51 Jay Street in Brooklyn, New York.

Located in an ODA-designed condo building, Meisel’s new two-level space measures in at just under 2,500 square feet and holds three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.

Amenities of the loft-style apartment include oak herringbone flooring, casement windows, and the piece de resistance: a massive kitchen. The luxurious kitchen boasts Aster Cucine cabinetry, a full range of Gaggenau appliances, and “La Rochelle Gris” marble counters.

Meisel opened one of the first art galleries in Soho. He will always be remembered by the art world as the man who coined the term photorealism. He has also spent his life as one of the promoters of the American “Pin-up” genre of art and is one of the world’s foremost collectors of both photorealism and pin-up art pieces.
