Forget the World—the De Bethune DB25L ‘Milky Way’ Puts the Whole Galaxy on Your Wrist

De Bethune may be relatively new on the Swiss watchmaking scene, but since its founding in 2002, the brand has had a penchant for crafting celestial complications for watches related to the skies above.

The newest watch from De Bethune epitomizes this trend with its new DB25L Milky Way, which is the Swiss maker’s latest example to include a telescopic view of the galaxy with a complication that encompasses the full width of the dial.

De Bethune uses a flame-blued titanium disc that has been studded with gold spheres to recall stars in the sky to create the bespoke dial effect. There is also a three-dimensional moonphase indicator located at the 12 o’clock that only requires adjusting once every 122 years, assuming the watch gets passed down for that many generations.

Powering the DB25L Milky Way is De Bethune’s in-house DB2105V2 caliber, a hand-wound movement that boasts a six-day power reserve.

All of the beauty of the DB25L Milky Way is housed in a 44.6mm platinum case that is surrounded by a thin ring of baguette-cut diamonds, which is attached to an alligator leather strap pair with a platinum buckle.

De Bethune seeks just under $225,000 for the DB25L Milky Way.
