Yves Béhar has designed a smartphone-enabled portable audio turntable called LOVE that is a mix of new and old, blending an app-operated portable audio device with the newfound love of vinyl.
LOVE looks like a long mouse, blending glossy black with a copper base and a rotating tone arm that has the ability to sit atop any size record. Once the needle reads the information of the record, it sends it via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to the connected device.
Users of the LOVE device are offered options of controlling playback, output, and even seeing album art based on the information gathered from the record. Users normally can control the record using the smartphone controls, but they also have the option of controlling tracks by gently touching the LOVE device itself.
LOVE uses a lithium battery that is rechargeable with a USB cable. It is connected via an accompanying LOVE app that offers extra features for a nominal fee.
The LOVE turntable is available for $299 plus free-for-life access to the LOVE app for the first 500 backers.
