Jon Bon Jovi’s one-time residence is back on the market. A penthouse on Soho’s Mercer Street, the property is re-entering the market with an asking price of $38 million. Bon Jovi purchased the penthouse in 2007 for $24 million, before attempting to market it in 2013 for $42 million. It was on and off the market until 2015, when it sold for $34 million.

The 7,400 square foot penthouse contains five bedrooms and 5.5 baths. It features 11’ ceilings, study, and a dramatic kitchen with dark wood cabinetry and black appliances. The bedrooms are all on the lower level, along with great room and dining room. There are of course glass walls, hardwood floors, and Bauhaus-inspired staircase for a little luxuriant utilitarian appeal. Gas fireplaces grace living room and den, and bedrooms feature arched windows. The master suite contains a bath rendered almost entirely in marble.

There are interconnected wood-floored terraces with integrated plantings on the upper level; the main terrace has plenty of room for outside dining and lounging. Outside paths lined with landscaped flora feature a meditation garden with Japanese maples and conifers. There is a second kitchen and media room on the upper level, as well as a guest room and office.

Jon Bon Jovi’s philanthropic activities include the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, a non-profit which seeks solutions to issues of hunger and homelessness in the United States. The foundation has provided shelter for thousands in need.
