Vacheron Constantin has revealed its most fascinating and complicated timepiece in the company’s tenured history in the form of the new Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600.
The Swiss maison has been creating fine watches since 1755, and the Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication takes the cake with an amazing 23 functions and complexities. The watch offers civil, sidereal, and solar time indications and functions, with each running on its own gear train.
Even though the Caliber 3600 movement in the Celestia Astronomical features 514 components, it is all housed in a relatively slim 13.6mm thick 45mm case. The movement is completely hand built by a master watchmaker in Vacheron Constantin’s custom atelier over the course of five years.
The Vacheron Constantin beauty is a true two-sided watch with 15 functions on the front dial and 8 more on the back dial, including a sky chart on the rear.
Vacheron Constantin debuted the Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600 at the Salon International de la haute Horlogerie 2017. It is slated to have a price tag well above $1 million.
