Ricardo Montaner’s Miami Beach estate has hit the market. The asking price is $10.95 million.

Dating to 1939, the house takes full advantage of its tropical surroundings; the Caribbean colonial façade falls away to bright contemporary elements, allowing it both historical appeal and plenty of light. The residence measures 7,884 square feet, and contains eight bedrooms and eight baths.

A 400-foot riverfront boardwalk stretches along the entire length of the one acre lot. Rendered in varnished pine, the boardwalk incorporates plenty of room for outdoor lounging along its tree-shaded expanse. Tropical and subtropical flora is allowed room to flourish throughout the property, and is worked into the overall aesthetic nicely, giving the pool and landscaped lawns and gardens a lagoon-like secrecy. The effect is of a sheltered niche in a suburban area; the Miami Beach downtown looms behind, but only as an afterthought.

Other notable features of the unique property include a dock and boat lift, pool cabana, roof terrace, in-law apartment, and a greenhouse and orchid house. Floors are hardwood and marble. The second-floor master suite offers views of the river. An unusually designed home, with a relaxed, open-air feel.

Venezuelan Ricardo Montaner began his professional singing career at the age of eighteen. He has sold tens of millions of records globally; his most recent is ‘Ida y Vuelta,’ which was released by Sony last fall.
