Actress Jane Fonda and renowned producer Richard Perry have listed their home in Beverly Hills. The couple purchased the house in 2012 for $7.3 million; they are asking $12.999 million for the sale.
The contemporary-style house’s grey, glassy and angular exterior is quite chilly, establishing the basis of an effective contrast with the interior. The interior design elements of the contemporary style—light, space, fluidity—are nicely complimented by careful toning. Strikingly, one half of a staircase, in azure, leads up to a second half in soft yellow, while another staircase, in vermilion, leads to a lower floor: a nice use of oppositional coloration. Oak hardwood floors are a nice grounding influence. A minimalist stacked slate fireplace, and Scandinavian-influenced kitchen, offer balance to the overall vision. Folding glass doors lead to an outdoor terrace overlooking the property.
The house measures a little over 7,500 square feet, and contains 4 bedrooms and 6.5 baths. The master suite contains a private sitting room, and a bath with mosaic-tiled soaking tub. Bedrooms have access to the second floor balcony.
The property exterior features a solar-heated pool, but most appealing is the meditation garden with water feature. There is a fire pit and outdoor lounging area.
Jane Fonda’s career has included work with Hal Ashby, Martin Ritt, and Alan J. Pakula; she took home best-actress Oscars for Pakula’s streetwise mystery ‘Klute’ (1971), and Ashby’s post-Vietnam ‘Coming Home’ (1978).
Richard Perry’s production style graced a long series of hit records in the 1970’s and 1980’s. He remains a considerable presence in the music industry.
Fonda and Perry recently announced their breakup.
