The estate of actress Patricia Barry has put her longtime home up for sale.  Barry—known for a long career in film and television, and best known for her roles in soap operas of the 1970’s—called the house home for nearly fifty years.

One of the most desirable properties in the upscale neighborhood of Brentwood Park, the gated home was remodeled into a Southern Colonial in 1968 shortly after Berry purchased the property. The façade was transformed into its current double-portico plantation design, and the grounds—most notably the backyard—into a park-like garden.

Measuring 4,326 square feet, and containing 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths, the home’s interior features fireplaces, study, solarium, and bar/lounge; French doors lead to a brick terrace, with steps leading to the lawn. The solarium room’s exterior is nicely overgrown with mature vines. The pool and brick terrace in the property’s rear is surrounded by mature trees and groomed landscaped grounds, and is located some distance from the house, beyond the expanse of lawn, giving it a pleasingly private appeal.

Barry’s estate is listing the home at $10.495 million. Mrs. Barry passed away in October of last year.

Patricia Barry began her career playing a bit part in a B-grade horror film, and immediately began a prolific acting career, taking major roles in television program episodes and films regularly, culminating with the strange ‘Kitten With a Whip’ (1964), in which she starred alongside John Forsythe. In the early 1970’s she began a career in soap operas, appearing in Days of Our Lives and Guiding Light.
