Cirrus Aircraft has introduced its new 2017 Cirrus G6, the smartest and safest small airplane the Minnesota-based company has ever built.

One new feature found in the G6 is the ultra-high speed Cirrus Perspective+ by Garmin flight deck that boasts a processing speed that is 10 times faster than previous Cirrus Perspective avionics. This means both enhanced performance and safety features are on display in the new G6.

Controlling this system is another first for Cirrus, a QWERTY keypad interface that gives users the ability to seamlessly go between a smartphone, tablet, or laptop to the personal aircraft.

Another new feature is the automotive-derived Cirrus Spectra wingtip lighting, which uses high-performance LED lighting to offer the brightest and most visible lighting option ever offered by the Duluth-based plane maker.

The G6 comes with a Lycoming IO-390 four-cylinder G6 SR20 engine that makes 215 horsepower, giving the single-prop plane more power and an increased load.

With more cockpit connectivity, power, and lighting, the G6 is both beautifully retro and conveniently modern all at once.
