Robbie Williams Sells Mulholland Home of 15 Years for $10M

Robbie Williams has sold his estate in the gated Mulholland Estates community. The home fetched $9.9 million. Williams purchased the home in 2002, for $5.4 million.

The house is a custom build dating to 1992. It is a stylistic amalgam, but the turret, stucco, roofline and rounded arches suggest the romantic sensibilities of Chateauesque and French Country design influences.

Employing a liberating, open layout, the house contains 10,681 square feet of living area, with seven bedrooms and nine baths, including the master suite. The double-door and wrought iron-gated entrance opens into the double-height foyer, with neutral-toned stone floor and arcing staircase with wrought-iron handrail and banister. The design is casual, with a mannerism of propriety.

The more appealing rooms in the house are those favoring light, space, and peace of mind: the glass-walled breakfast room that opens to the pool and lounge area, the similarly-designed salon. The living room/study is divided into two contrasting, linked components: the latter is fairly dark, and a little rigid, but the look is balanced by the bright ease of the former, which is connected to the dining room. The master bath may be the most formal room of the house, with an imposing soaking tub at its center rising up out of the floor pattern, and other amenities falling away to the margins.

The grounds measure about three-quarters of an acre. The pool features a waterfall, and there are extensive outdoor lounge, dining and cooking areas. Williams sold another Beverly Hills property in 2013, for $3.2 million; in 2015, he purchased another in the area, for $32 million.

Robbie Williams is a wildly popular entertainer: in 2006, he set a Guinness record for selling 1.6 million concert tickets in one day. He began his career as a member of British boy-band Take That, before going solo in 1995. He established a charity for the disadvantaged, Give It Some, in his English home town of Stoke-on-Trent.
