Blancpain has been creating masterful Swiss watches since 1735, and its new Villeret Métiers D’Art Ganesh timepiece that serves as a horological tribute to the Hindu deity Ganesha is equally impressive.

The elephant-headed Ganesha is one of the most worshiped lords in the Hindu religion and serves as the obstacle remover. Also known as Vinayaka (knowledgeable), Ganesha is also the patron of the arts.

Blancpain is releasing the Villeret Métiers D’Art Ganesh watch just in time for Ganesha Jayanti, the celebration of the Hindu God’s birthday.

The timepiece boasts a dial with an artfully crafted portrait of Ganesha using fine engraving, shakudō, and damascening. It was created at the Swiss watch brand’s Métiers D’Art workshop in the famed Vallée de Joux. The shakudō process results in a uniquely colored alloy consisting of gold and copper that has been treated to offer soft black shades.

Housing this bespoke dial is a 45mm red gold case that comes with Blancpain’s trademark double-stepped bezel. Powering the timepiece is the manually wound in-house caliber 15B that boasts a 40-hour power reserve. The movement offers a Côtes de Genève finish with beveling and circular graining to add to the visible beauty seen via a clear case back.

Attached to a brown alligator leather strap, the Villeret Métiers D’Art Ganesh is available for around $137,150.
