DeAndre Jordan recently sold this Palisades home, taking a little bit of a loss in the process.
The Clippers’ center purchased the property about a year ago for around $12.7 million, and listed it in March of this year, initially at $12.895 million, with the asking price eventually dropping to $12.4 million. In early December, it went under contract for $11.75 million. Papers were recently passed between Jordan and an unnamed buyer.
The 10,500 square foot Cape Cod influenced home contains seven bedrooms and ten baths, and many appointments, including an office accessible only through an electronic, thumbprint-validating security system, and elevator, a home cinema and, of course, an exercise room with indoor pool.
Everything about the house is expansive, from the double-height foyer with floating staircase to the wine cellar. A glass wall separates first-floor living area from outdoor terrace, overlooking the outdoor pool and lounge area, putting green, and basketball court; the wall retracts to open the main level to the rest of the ½ acre property, where colored LED lights playfully illuminate pool area, fire pit, and outdoor kitchen and bar. The master bedroom features its own smaller, retractable glass wall, and its own terrace. The kitchen island is capped with a massive slab of marble, and the master bath features herringbone tile. Grey, off-white, and brown or natural wood predominate, giving the home a cool, brooding interior.
In 2015, the gifted defenseman and rebounder re-signed with the Clippers in an $88 million dollar deal, so a change of professional landscape is apparently not the reason for the sale.
