Holiday shopping for car enthusiasts may have just gotten a little bit easier thanks to Slot Mods and its new incredibly detailed model race track.

Modeled after classic 1960s and 70’s hill climb race tracks, the actual two-lane track of the Slot Mods model is a 6-foot by 12-foot painted-like-asphalt wooden lane that is 1/32 scale like the rest of the model.

Small RC-like slot cars made to look like iconic Porsches and other speedsters from the above era are controlled by two controllers, a lap-timing and race management system, and a PC tablet.

All of the pieces and parts, minus the race cars and electronic systems, are handmade to be period correct in all ways, from the structures, to the bridges, and even to the signs that line the race course.

A model track like this takes Slot Mods about three to four months to build. The only catch is that getting one’s hands on one of these unique creations will set back the owner around $50,000.
