Asian, in particular Chinese and Hong Kong-based buyers, remain some of the biggest Swiss watch enthusiasts in the world. Vacheron Constantin has come out with a special Métiers d’Art the Legend of the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Rooster watch to celebrate Chinese New Year this coming January.
The special Métiers d’Art collection from Vacheron Constantin boasts some of the Swiss brand’s most aesthetically pleasing watches with super-complicated watch-making techniques used to create each and every example.
The Chinese Zodiac Year of the Rooster timepiece boasts a 40mm platinum or 18k 5N pink gold case, with both featuring a water resistance of almost 100 feet.
The dial of the watch of features a large rooster that matches the color of the case. The face also includes the motifs of flowers completed in a special Chinese paper-cutting technique called jiǎnzhǐ that dates back to the second century. The result of this paper cutting technique is the flowers appearing to float in between the dial and crystal.
Wearers can see the hours, minutes, day of the week, and date through four apertures on the watch.
