Bang & Olufsen has made some pretty fantastic headphones and speakers in the past years. But with the speed at which technology is advancing, it takes a lot of ingenuity to create headphones worthy of the B&O tag.
The Danish manufacturer has completed its first attempt at blending three major features of over-the-ear headphones today (wireless connectivity, noise cancellation, and firm but comfortable ear cushions), and the result is the new Beoplay H9 model.
The H9 features lambskin-wrapped memory foam ear cushions that are built onto a superlight aluminum frame. There is also a built-in touch interface that allows wearers to manage their music, take calls, and more with simple taps and movements of a finger.
Bang & Olufsen’s supreme sound is delivered by 40-mm electro-dynamic drivers offering a frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
Wireless connectivity comes in the form of Bluetooth 4.2, with aptX and AAC capabilities. There is, of course, an audio cable included in case the battery dies, with the H9s featuring a battery life of 16 hours, or 14 hours when the active noise cancellation feature is turned on.
B&0 will offer the H9 headphones in two colors, black and Argilla Grey, with a price tag of $499.
