Honda Aircraft Company has officially earned a pair of speed records from the National Aeronautic Association for its flights on recognized courses from Teterboro, New Jersey to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and from Boston, Massachusetts to Palm Beach, Florida.

The aircraft that made these flights is dubbed the HondaJet and is the fastest aircraft in its class.

Honda has patented the design that went into its HondaJet, which comes in the form of an over-the-wing engine mount configuration. Other technologies featured on the jet are a natural laminar flow wing, a fuselage nose, and a composite fuselage.

All of these specially designed facets and the overall design scheme have given the Hondajet the largest baggage capacity, the most spacious cabin, and a super quiet cabin.

The HondaJet also boasts the best specs in its class with a maximum cruising speed of 422 knots (or 486 mph), a range-topping maximum altitude of 43,000 feet, and a range of 1,223 nautical miles (1,408 miles), which gives it the best fuel efficiency in its class.

“We chose several of the busiest business aviation airports with extremely popular routes to demonstrate that the HondaJet will get customers where they need to be faster than any other light jet,” said Honda Aircraft president and CEO Michimasa Fujino.
