Honda’s Rebel was one of the most sought-after entry-level cruisers in the 1980s, and now the Japanese brand has brought the biking rebellion back with the new edition of the Rebel.
The new creation comes in two engine versions, either a 500cc parallel twin powerplant or a 300cc single version. And just like the original CMX250C Rebel, the new versions are cost-friendly cruisers that are comfortable to ride for beginners and perfect commuter motorcycles.
There are still many of the 1980s Rebels on the road nowadays because the model makes for a good bike to base custom builds off of. So Honda had to be very intentional with how it designed the new editions of the Rebel, which will officially be called the CMX500H and CMX300H.
Powering the 500 is a 45-horsepower, liquid-cooled parallel twin engine that is also in the sportier and more powerfully inclined CBR500R. The 300 uses a 30.4 hp single-cylinder engine that is featured on the CBR300R.
Honda North America has confirmed the Rebel 500 is set to retail for $5,999. The Rebel 300 will come with a $4,399 price tag. Shipping on the Rebel is expected to begin in April of 2017.
