Patrons of the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show were given a true treat when Briggs Automotive Company put its single-seat Mono supercar on full display at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The 2017 BAC Mono follows in the tradition of its predecessors and takes the form of a superpowered, Indy-car looking speed demon.
Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that makes 305 horsepower and 227 pound-feet of torque. Weighing in at just under 1,300 pounds, the Mono boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 525 hp per ton.
New features of the 2017 Mono include intelligent launch control, five-stage traction control, a switchable auto upshift, and an electronic parking brake that helps reduce the vehicle’s weight.
Because the Mono has been in such high demand in the United States, BAC built a new facility in Sonoma, California. Not only have they added a new plant, the British car brand has created service centers across America to give customers of the specialized car peace of mind.
