Los Angeles-based photographer Gray Malin recently debuted his new project, “Art of Living,” which presents ordinary objects viewed through a new lens.

Malin took mid-century modern furniture pieces and placed them on a giant reflective 15-foot platform that sits on the beautiful waters of French Polynesia.

The floating mirrored stilts were created by local engineers to display furniture concepts from the likes of famed designers like Knoll, Charles and Ray Eames, and Eero Saarinen.

Malin has set these installations against a stunning natural backdrop that includes Mount Otemanu, the crystal clear waters, and the bright blue sky of the region.

The “Art of Living” series was revealed at the recent London Frieze Art Fair and serves as a creative collaboration between Malin and the Le Méridien hotel in Bora Bora.

Prints of the collection will surely come with a steep price, but Malin has said he wants to make sure his fans can access the art in a variety of ways, including at the Le Méridien hotel, which will show off his work on video display screens and on the key cards for their hotels worldwide.
