Lakers’ Luol Deng Buys in Brentwood for $6.2M Following $72M Contract

The L.A. Lakers signed veteran Luol Deng this past July, and he’s settling right in to holding court in Los Angeles in a brand new, $6.15 million contemporary in Brentwood.  The home has three stories, and features the usual industrial-chic feel of the contemporary, with lots of long, straight lines, plenty of glass, and the occasional warmth of a little supporting hardwood.  The interior is a tasteful series of intersecting planes, punctuated by various and sundry bits of artistic expression.

The house features seven bedrooms—six of which have their own bathrooms and balconies—an entertainment room, a large lounge, and glass doors that open to reveal a generous, 1,000 square-foot deck, pool, and sloping, landscaped yard; a staircase leads down to a smaller, enclosed accessory deck.  City and Pacific rest in the distance.

At nineteen, Mr. Deng began his professional career as a small forward with the Chicago Bulls, and spent over eight years with the team as a positive asset.  After leaving Chicago he signed with Cleveland in 2013-14, and then joined the Miami Heat for 2014-15 before settling in L.A. this past summer.  His current contract is $72 million.
