Sean Rad, co-founder of ubiquitous dating app Tinder, has offloaded his penthouse unit in the Carlyle Residences on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles for $7.75 million.
The penthouse pad is located on the 23rd floor of the Carlyle Residences. The space boasts fantastic views of Los Angeles via floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding all of the living spaces, dark wood flooring, a modern chef’s kitchen, and gold and crystal fixtures throughout.
Rad’s former apartment holds three bedrooms and five bathrooms along with a library/study, a formal living room, and a dining room. Outside, there are balconies and terraces stemming from each home exposure. The sale also included three covered parking spaces.
Rad recently upgraded to a home in the Hollywood Hills West neighborhood. He dropped $7.5 million for the penthouse about a year ago and was rumored to have asked for as much as $8.995 million for the unit.
Before Tinder, Rad ran the social marketing firm Adly. Tinder sees over 26 million matches per day. The simple app has users swipe left or right on potential dates based on attraction. In doing so, it generates millions of dollars a day from advertisers and paid features.
