After debuting both to awe and skepticism, the “Too Much?” table is now accompanied by an updated incarnation, the “Too Much? II” cash-burning sculptural table.

Amarist Studio has paired with Alejandro Monge to craft the ultra-unique table that does double duty as a piece of art. The Barcelona-based studio wanted to create something that reflects on the “volatility of money and its true value.”

Constructed from concrete and featuring a glass urn that contains a pyramid of fifty euro bills, the statement piece is begging viewers to ask themselves, “Is this too much?” and to evaluate the intersection of extravagance and quality in art.

Literally containing a moment of ignited wealth, the combustion of money means passersby can watch in awe as a real flame chars the large pile of cash. For those who can’t bear to watch money burn, don’t worry. The money, concrete, and ashes are made from sculpting resins.

“One of the most interesting things of this piece is, in fact, to see the different reactions (…)on people, depending on their culture and background,” Amarist Studio said.
