Nissan has joined forces with UK design studio Hardie to turn one of its electric e-NV200 vans into the first-ever all-electric mobile office called the e-NV200 WORKSPACe.

The mobile personal office comes with a fold-out desk, a touchscreen computer, built-in Wi-Fi, a Bluetooth audio system, a high-tech coffee machine LED lights controlled by a smartphone, and a mini-fridge.

A panoramic glass roof, a white interior, and added floor lighting makes the inside of the e-NV200 WORKSPACe feel open and bright, and not like the occupant is hunkered down and trapped in the back of a van. Should weather permit, both of the sliding side doors and the rear doors can be opened to offer an “open office” feeling. There is also a deployable floating deck that pulls out of the rear.

The WORKSPACe also features a folding Brompton bike that is tucked away in one of the rear doors to allow the van’s owner the ability to make quick trips while the vehicle is charging or parked in a prime location. Charging the e-NV200 from zero to 80 percent only takes 30 minutes, so owners won’t be stopped long.

Hot-desking in mobile workstations like the e-NV200 WORKSPACe has become much more popular over the past year, with a worldwide increase of 36 percent in this style of business.
